Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)?

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a goal orientated psychotherapy method which works by understanding the person’s needs and addressing them in a structured matter.

In order to build your future, you must first understand yourself

Why CBT?

I am an adept of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as its principles focus on empowering people and teaching them how they can grow, develop new skills, discover their core values, and become the ones they wish to become.  I have a practical approach because I believe that we grant more importance to the things that we can use and benefit from.

Throughout my programs I work mainly with practical plans, advice and guidelines which can be used on day-to-day situations.

How does it work?

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a fixed program consisting of 6-10 sessions in which we will structurally address the goals that you would like to achieve. We will discuss together which goals are most important for you and we will decide together on how to proceed. Since we are all unique, this program will be tailored to answer your own needs.

We will then proceed to identify your cognitive distortions and increase awareness of their presence. Once we have identified them, you will start to see how those thoughts are impacting your emotions and your behavior. This allows you to learn how to reshape and reprogram those thoughts into ones that will be more helpful for your situation and in your life. It will give you the power to take control over your own thoughts and emotions and turn them from negative and destructive into constructive.

What can you achieve through cognitive behavioral therapy?

  •  Identify your own cognitive distortions (negative thought patterns)
  • Understand your own past and learn how your past experiences have shaped you
  • Learn how to control your emotions and reactions and not be controlled by them
  • Gain a better understanding of yourself and discover your core values
  • Learn how to achieve your goals in a structured, practical way
  • Be more aware of your own negative, self-sabotaging thought patterns and turn them into constructive processes
  • Learn how you can prevent burnout, depression, anxiety, and many other destructive states of mind by becoming the master of your own thoughts and emotions.
